Hildebrand Hijinks

We have been so encouraged these past few weeks by the wonderful send-offs prepared by our dear family and friends. Our previous community group threw us a going away celebration with a time of worship, prayer, fellowship, food and sharing. The children in this lovely little community have been the BEST friends to my kiddos, and the moms have been some of the nearest and dearest to my heart over the past few years. As well, David has loved growing in relationship with the dads during our season of meeting in the forest to do "worship walks".  Each week our schedules are abundantly full of social gatherings and dinners so that we can soak up all the time we can with those we delight to do life with. The prayer times are always so meaningful and bittersweet as we find ourselves silently wondering when we will next pray together face to face, or if that will happen on this side of eternity.   What have we been up to this month? This photo of Chewie's pup sums it up perfectly: savouring every last drop of goodness by enjoying as much time with friends and family as possible before we move.  There's been some packing too, of course. 

2 February 2022 Our family has been sick with one thing (*cough*, Covid) or another (*ugh*, Norovirus) for over two weeks now. Everyone is on the mend but there are some lingering symptoms that have meant we have been canceling and postponing events. Inasmuch as I dislike “losing” two weeks that could have been spent visiting with precious friends and family members, it has been a blessing to have so much time as a family of five. The kids and I are together All. The. Time (I passionately adore my job as a homeschooling stay-at-home mom–I wouldn’t trade it for anything!) and we love our rhythms, but it’s been a very busy season for David as he wraps up ministry at Northview and transitions to working on the Creekside Fellowship church plant, so we have been feeling the lack of Daddy Time.  Gross symptoms aside, none of us minded having so much forced down time where we bonded over playing board games, reading books, watching movies, taking very short (and slow paced) walks when the...
